‘Private sector’ includes for-profit, not-for-profit, NGO. ‘Freestanding’ means a site completely separate from a hospital or other type of health facility to which complicated cases may be referred. Several of the freestanding MLBCs were on the same site as another health facility (e.g. a primary health centre), but not on the same site as a referral facility. ‘Onsite/alongside’ means on the same site as a hospital or other type of health facility to which complicated cases may be referred.
