Timeline of the Study. The study was expected to require approximately 14 months for pre-implementation preparation (i.e. IRB preparation, submission, review, and approval; baseline hospital assessment, selection, and allocation; and staff training and site preparation). Implementation and enrollment were expected to take a further 9 months, and follow-up required a subsequent 12-month period. Finally, data analysis and reporting were expected to require another 12 months. (institutional review board [IRB], antiretroviral therapy [ART])
