They’ve come a long way – to be confronted with an even longer licensure process in Germany: Syrian doctors in Germany
Syrian doctors who have immigrated to Germany have reported being confronted with a convoluted and difficult application procedure to obtain their medical licenses. Professor Julika Loss, at the University of Regensburg, interviewed Syrian doctors, who had immigrated to Germany, to report on their experience of the medical license application system. A study exploring nurses' experiences of the 2011 Fukushima Power Plant disaster identified parenting, psychological support, and the guarantee of job opportunities to encourage the re-building of the nursing workforce in post-disaster settings.
“From taboo to routine”: a qualitative evaluation of a hospital-based advocacy intervention for domestic violence and abuse
Hospital-based Independent Domestic Violence Advisors were found to offer a 'unique and valued' intervention to respond to domestic violence and abuse, following an initial roll-out of the service in five English hospitals.

Collection open for submissions: Contribution of climate change to the spread of infectious diseases
This cross-journal collection brings together in one place articles outlining diseases (and their vectors) that are likely to spread or are already spreading across borders due to the effects of climate change. The impact of policy implementation or interventions designed to contain the spread of infectious diseases, and studies that could inform future global policy or practical solutions are very much welcome.
