Become an Associate Editor

BMC Health Services Research is recruiting new Associate Editors to join the Editorial Board. As BMC Health Services Research’s visibility increases, we must also ensure that the journal is able to cope with these increased submissions whilst maintaining our high editorial standards.  Therefore, we are looking to expand our editorial team.

Your contribution to the journal could involve joining an international board of academic Associate Editors to assess manuscripts within your field by guiding them through the peer review process. We would ask you to choose peer reviewers and provide your assessment of the manuscript on the basis of the peer review reports. We expect that this should not take too much of your time as you would be aided in this role by our in-house editorial administrators.

We are interested in individuals who are committed to open access, data sharing and innovation in scientific publishing. An Associate Editor for BMC Health Services Research should be willing to handle a minimum of 10 manuscripts per year across a range of disciplines within their broader subject area.

Who are we looking for?

For us, a suitable Associate Editor for BMC Health Services Research can be described as someone who

·         Supports the journal’s scope and direction and is committed advocate and represent BMC Health Services Research within the scientific community.

·         Is curious and interested in handling manuscripts across a range of topics and enjoys the exposure to a great breadth of interesting research. Associate Editors are assigned to manuscripts within their broad area of experience but not necessarily in their own immediate subspecialty.
