Strong beliefs that including vision in stroke care will provide a better health service

It needs to be implemented because it is important for the patients. When you know the large number of stroke survivors with VIs and when many do not discover it themselves its reason enough for us to be systematic in the assessment of it. It’s about contributing to better lives (P8).

I experience stroke patients as very motivated, in a way, to get better. Because of the acute changes to their functional level, it triggers something in many, and they want to get back to where they were. Therefore, it is important to be prepared and be able to receive them and provide a good assessment (P6).

Experiencing new routines to make a difference

I believe it is important that we experience it [vision routine] as useful. That we can use it immediately. In rehabilitation, and of course, for further recommendations and referrals (P2).

Experiencing the tool as useful and evidence based

It is important for me when I am going to use the test results to show something or to show a change, that it [vision assessment tool] is standardised and validated (P9).

I think it should be relevant. That it serves a purpose, that it’s not just a formality but is useful and has a meaning. The other things are not that important to me, I am not a stickler (P2).
