Community-dwelling older people =

all older people living at home who are either with or without need of long-term care

Older people not in need of long-term care =

older people who live at home and have no assessed need of long-term care

Older people in need of long-term care =

older people with assessed need of long-term according to § 14, German Social Code Book XI (includes both nursing home residents and home care recipients)

Nursing home residents =

people with assessed need of long-term care according to § 14, German Social Code Book XI who live in a nursing home

Home care recipients =

people with assessed need of long-term care according to § 14, German Social Code Book XI who live at home and obtain professional or informal long-term care
