The target of the index value for patients with cardiovascular history (defined as the presence of a MI, CABG, PCI, TIA or CVA) is lower than for those without cardiovascular history. Data are represented for the total number of type 1 or type 2 diabetes patients, as well as in the absence or presence of cardiovascular history. The proportion with an index value equal to or above the threshold, but with a recorded treatment initiation or intensification, or with a recorded contraindication for treatment intensification or initiation, is represented as number of patients.
